We had another really productive (and entertaining) Realtors on Defense class with special focus on rape defense. Pepper spray and alarms are good but may give you a false sense of security--much wiser to also be capable of putting up a nasty defense--your goal is to be a very unpleasant victim!
Recently (in Missouri?)a female Realtor was attacked while on the job at an open house, she was brutalized in many ways yet survived. When the police caught up with her attacker, (who was recently released from prison) he stated that his cellmate had told him to "go after Realtors at open houses cause they are easy targets". This is truly a frightening reality for not only Realtors but For Sale by Owners as well. Be careful. Be safe. Be smart. No deal is worth your life. Consider taking regular self-defense classes--not only will they change your life...it could save your life!
